The World of Pandora

Introduction

It is said that Pandora was touched by God. As stunning as she was wise, with abilities that surpassed even the most colorful imagination. Caught between worlds Pandora was a species unto herself, a blending of insatiable humanity and the many divine gifts bestowed upon her. With the world literally bowing at her feet many could not understand her hesitance to wield her power. Her resistance to bend others to her will. Confusion became envy and soon envy became hatred as the very individuals who had once loved her deemed her unworthy of the abilities she possessed. All sought her relentlessly, the once perfect example of humanity, now only seen as a means to an end. A weapon that could be used to conquer.

Until she simply disappeared without a trace.

Some say that she died. Others that she was finally captured. And some even worried that God had taken her back to punish the fools who had dared to harm her. Pandora's existence had brought out the worst possible parts of the human spirit. The darkness that lurks in the depths of any soul willing to succumb to it. The woman would leave behind a tainted legend that would blame her for all of the chaos, destruction, and heartache.

A millenia later, the world she left behind is again on the brink of war. A simple wooden box is all that remains, and may be the key to all they hold dear. Within are not the horrors written about in myth and mayhem but what actually transpired when Pandora vanished from mortals' eyes. Humans' last chance to finally understand the mysterious creature and maybe save themselves in the process.
